Nature's Wrath

The balmy seas
deeping calm
the ruffling breeze
The man must stand
And wish on Neptune's jeweled crown
That he may not the tyranny face
For against natures wrath man cannot stand, on sea nor land
The mast, the compass, the rigging help not
What angry power strike
What rageful wind blows
from the eyes calm to the gale's rash unreasoning
in the wet season
What thought betrayed throughout the fray
A schooner of wood and glue
Oh the water!Over it Flew!
The die is casts!
The splintered mast!
Upon the rocks must crash !
Alas! All is lost!
And man in his arrogance
could thought to win
Now he must take to knee and to the heavens plea
All for naught
to be a god He sought
All for naught
Beyond the suns redding horizon all falls still
So Nature wills
No sign of man shall be seen again on these playful seas
Or those who dare to dream a dream
