Voice of Truth

When one stands up for what's right
The voice of truth cannot, will not be silenced
It is not its nature to do so
Kill the messenger
But not the message
As an Olympic torch
Passes from one runner to the next
So to the message passes onwards
From activist to another
People all races, economic status, and orientations
Have the right too speak their piece
In front of a gathering of their community
And when we stand up
join hands
And raise our voice in unison
And firmly declare
We willnot allow our human rights
To wither under the heat
Of injustice's cruel flag
And when we refuse to take the sit-lie sitting down
Or rather, standing and moving
Protesting in the words of Dr. King
We will not obey unjust laws
Or submit to unjust practices
That is the moment CHANGE begins to happen
FOR THE VOICE OF TRUTH CANNOT,
WILL NOT BE SILENT...
